Enfield's Pymmes Park GREEN GYM Hosts a Launch Party
Ben Harris from Enfield's new project in Pymmes Park called Green Gym does a demonstration of how to plant a tree with an emphasis on doing it safely. The Green Gym in Enfield – Pymmes Park is part of a 'Pro-Active Minds' collaboration (focussing on the 5-ways to wellbeing and conservation activities)
Ben and Chris gave an introduction to the site and the opportunity to pick up more information on the project. and to take a look at and even join in, the work that volunteers are already involved in.
There was a light lunch of freshly made soup and bread as well as some sweet treats which offered
new volunteers the chance to talk to project staff and current volunteers. Some of us planted small bare root trees such as holly and hazel on the site. They came prepared to loan the volunteers kneeling pads, gloves as well as spades or shovels.
They requested that we mention their project which will happen every Wednesday from 11-2 and that you will be welcome to also join in Tuesday as well as Thursdays.
The Enfield Mayor Cllr Bernadette Lappage listens on while Chris from TCV (the conservation volunteers) explains the background and reason behind the Green Gym Project.
