March 25 - Pymmes Pk Clean Up Saturday

This Saturday, 29 March, in Pymmes Park
This Saturday, 29 March, in Pymmes Park

This Saturday,  Friends of Pymmes Park is joining Keep Britain Tidy for the Great British Spring Clean.

Meeting at the amphitheatre there will be 3 x two-hour shifts between 10am and 2pm to be held north of the Midnight Path

That is:

·         10am – 12noon:  West side of the park

·         11am – 1pm:  North side of the park

·         12noon – 2pm:  East side of the park

By concentrating on zones we can maximise the two hour shifts. We have a number of litter pickers but if you have your own, we suggest you bring it.

It’s important that volunteers use heavy-duty, protective gloves and wear suitable clothing and footwear.

It’s recommended that you carry a hand sanitiser and wash your hands regularly.

Please ensure you have considered the weather and are wearing suitable clothing/ shoes and have enough to drink. If it is warm, consider suncream / hats.

Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult when taking part in a clean-up.

Remind children that if they are in any doubt they should ask a grown up before picking the litter up.

If possible, please separate litter into three bags so as much as possible can be recycled:

  1. Plastic bottles.

  2. Aluminium cans.

  3. General waste.

Potentially hazardous waste should be collected in separate containers, not litter bags.

  • Hazardous waste electrics (WEEE) such as vapes

  • Sharp objects such as broken glass and disposable BBQs

  • Clinical waste such as needles/syringes.

Let’s give Pymmes Park a Spring Clean!
